UPDATE
Due to the comment below from Stephanie L., letting us know that we have to have a lottery license in order for us to do a draw for a bike, we are cancelling the contest. We want the bike to be given to customers who support and shop with us and support the brands that we carry. We will instead give the bike to our top Strellson customer at the end of the year. Happy Shopping!

ANY contest in Canada that does not haev a lottery license MUST have a ‘no purchase entry’ clause. If it doesn’t have a ‘no purchase required’ statement in its official rules, it’s a lottery, not a contest, and the company must adhere to the provincial lottery regulations.

Is there a way to enter the contest without a purchase? Thank you! I love the bike, but as a girl, will not be able to buy from the collection.

    Hi Stephanie,

Can you specify where you read that and which act and statute that indicates “ANY contest in Canada That does not have a lottery license MUST have a ‘no purchase entry’ clause.”

The Act that you might be referring to indicates that the aforementioned directly relates to companies that operate and are in association to gambling. If you are referring to the Gaming and control act you should review and/or get a lawyer to review that act on your behalf.

In addition, there was NOT an issuance of a ticket to contest entries, which would have made this contest in violation of the prescribed rules laid out within the Gaming Control Act.

Lastly, Gotstyle is not a gaming operation, casino, or charity casino that is soliciting betting, wagering and so on.
