The Gotstyle family grew last year! Gotstyle Distillery, our new space at 21 Trinity Street in the beautiful Distillery District is 6,000 square feet of style. From casual to formal, this location is still a work in process but come Spring 2013 we will have all of your needs covered plus a few extras including our full men’s and women’s collections, barbershop/salon, suiting room, and pool table.
Check out Toronto Life and BlogTO for photos and more details on what’s in store.
The Gotstyle Man has finally met his match. The 6,000 square feet of Gotstyle Distillery is a shared space of Gotstyle Menswear and the new Gotstyle Woman. While our guys can find the same great brands at both locations, the ladies will find sharply tailored work wear, refined casual clothes, and accessories for every occasion from Ted Baker, Cuchara, Ela Handbags, Paige Denim, Tiger of Sweden, and many more.
To introduce Video Shopping, we worked with the creative masterminds of Dorsey/Holme Experience to create The Naked Man video. It’s true that even in the stickiest of situations, style is always possible.
To help our guys out when they’re too busy for an in-store visit, we launched Video Shopping. Skype or FaceTime us from the office, home, or anywhere, and one of our stylists will put together whatever you need and courier it to you within hours (downtown Toronto only). So next time you’re stuck at the office late but need an outfit for that night, (video) call on us.
2012 was a great year for sports, we got to work with athletes of all types. Toronto Raptors Power Forward Amir Johnson, came to us with the challenge of getting his 6′ 9″ frame into a suit. Thanks to S. Cohen, Amir left with a custom suit from S. Cohen. And a lot of swag, of course.
Toronto FC’s Official Fashion Partner
Last year marked our first year as the TFC’s official fashion partner. Toronto’s soccer stars and coaching staff looked sharp all season. For their record setting match against the L.A. Galaxy, the guys wore Strellson suits from Gotstyle before and after the game. Despite it being an even match, the team looked great and played hard. Here’s to another year of soccer and style!
Our top customers joined us at the Spoke Club for a high flying fashion show and party. The Mile High Club was a huge hit, we packed each floor with well dressed guests and partied the night away with inspiration from three different destinations: Jamaica, New York City, and Paris.
You can check out all of the event photos on our Facebook page.
The doors of Gotstyle Distillery opened a couple weeks early, but only for one night. We invited our customers to get an exclusive peek of the new space and what’s in store for Fall/Winter 2012, at our exclusive After Dark Party.
Full event photos are all on our Facebook page.
Who Wore Gotstyle
We’ve opened our doors to a lot of amazing people this year. They’ve worn Gotstyle all over, from national television and even to the London 2012 Paralympics.
Ed Robertson prepared for his co-hosting duties on Live with Kelly by suiting up at Gotstyle. He did a great job, and looked great in a SAND blazer, Blue Industry shirt, and Moods of Norway pants.
Patrick J. Adams from the popular TV show Suits Instagrammed his on-set Gotstyle suit.
Canadian Paralympic athlete Josh Cassidy came to us for a made to measure suit. After he won the Boston Marathon in record time, he went on to the 2012 London Paralympics where he wore this suit. You can go through the whole made to measure process here, with a look into Josh’s visit with us.
Sponsored by Gotstyle
Over the course of 2012, we sponsored a few great events, from raising money for CAMH to supporting start-ups and entrepreneurs.
Every year, we sponsor the Fourth Period Magazine Charity Golf Classic. It’s a day of golfing and lunching with NHL players and friends, all to support CAMH.
This year we got on board with Raw: A Forum for Fresh Ideas, a new event that brings entrepreneurs and industry leaders together for a night of business inspiration.
We gifted Extreme Startups Demo Day speakers with goodies to keep them looking stylish and smart for the next meetings and events. Plus, we got to listen and learn to some amazing people.
The Frocktail Party is an annual fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes research. This year we donated a suit to be auctioned off at their gala, which always brings out the city’s most stylish people and frocks.
Sharp Magazine lists Gotstyle as One of Canada’s Best Men’s Stores
We’re excited to be included in Sharp Magazine‘s list of the best men’s stores across Canada! Here’s what Canada’s top menswear magazine had to say about us:
“Got Style is recognized as one of the best Canadian stores for men. Period. GS’s new store is divided into three lifestyles-oriented categories: casual, social and business. All of their suits reflect the modernity of today’s tailoring, so think shorter jackets, trimmer pants and nothing boxy or pleated.”
Adrian Grenier Visits Us at Fashion’s Night Out
2012 marked the first annual Fashion’s Night Out Toronto, and we celebrated it at The Bazaar: by Rac Boutique. Entourage’s Adrian Grenier came for a visit, and he picked up a pair of Sully Wong shoes.
In the online realm, 2012 was a year of great growth. We joined Pinterest midway through 2012, and have already gotten over 200,000 followers. Just in time for the end of 2012 we cracked 3,000 Facebook likes, and The Naked Man video hit a milestone of over 140,000 YouTube views. Our blog following has grown to over 1,000 visitors per day, thanks to readers like you!
We give all of our friends and followers a huge thank you to chatting with us and joining us online. Here’s to another year!
So, 2012 was an awesome year for us. To return some of our good fortunes back to the world we ended the year with Gotstyle Gives. For the month of December, 10% of all sales at Gotstyle Distillery were donated to three global charities: Half the Sky, Falling Whistles, and Kols.
And there you have it, our busiest year yet. We wouldn’t have enjoyed all of these exciting events if it weren’t for your support. Thank you and happy new year!
