On Remembrance Day, November 11, 2014, the team at Gotstyle, alongside Toronto Maple Leaf left winger Joffrey Lupul was honoured to host a special event in support of the True Patriot Love Foundation where we presented TPL with the  largest significant grassroots, social media campaign donation of $25,000.

For those of you unfamiliar, last seasons Melissa Austria, founder of Gotstyle and Joffrey Lupul banded together to create a unique program called #LupulStyle that seamlessly combined the world of fashion and philanthropy. With the power of social media, LupulStyle.com was born to provided readers great style advice while driving awareness towards various causes that are close to both parties. In our inaugural years our charity of choice was True Patriot Love a national charity that honours the sacrifices of members of the Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans and their families in both times of peace and conflict. True Patriot Love accomplishes its mission by funding unique programs and innovative research in the areas of mental health, physical rehabilitation, family support and veteran transition. True Patriot Love also seeks to change the conversation about the challenges facing today’s military community by hosting ambitious expeditions and hosting international symposia.

“I wanted to contribute to True Patriot Love because they make sure our soldiers know that when they return there is support for them and that they feel honoured for the commitment they made to our country”, says Melissa Austria.

Even though, this phase of our initiative through #LupulStyle may have come to a close our commitment to TPL and our veterans hasn’t. With the purchase of each of those items Gotstyle will be donating proceeds to the True Patriot Love Foundation.
