Umbro Limited Edition Jersey Ad from the 1960’s

Comments (2) General

In the 1960’s, Umbro launched an ad campaign for their limited edition jersey collection, using the WAGs (Wives And Girlfriends) of champion football players from all over the world. At the time, the ad was deemed too racy for the general public.

Fast forward fifty years, where Umbro decided to reintroduce the concept to a society that would be more willing to accept (and drool) over their ad campaign. Taking seven of the World Cup champions, seven of their best artists, and seven of their player’s best WAGs, Umbro was able to generate a highly successful and viral campaign that Gotstyle is happy to be a part of.

Be sure to come by the store and check out the jerseys, t-shirts, and zip sweaters – the exclusive carrier for the Umbro World Champion Collection in Toronto, and one of only three stores to carry them in Canada.

Unfortunately you didn’t have any medium size 40 left in any of the uk limited edition designers kits when I came on on Friday.
