Cotton Blazers

Tuxedo Jackets

I have a lot of guys starting to ask what’s coming in for Spring.

Expect the return to classic styling, but with a modern edge. Easy fashions that work effortlessly together. It’s about adding the new basics to your wardrobe.

The must have items for Spring? We’ve broken it down by look:

The New Preppy

  1. The cotton blazer or suit – this will be your go to item this season! – Look for Cinque, TConcept
  2. Slim fit oxford shirts – Haight & Ashbury, Cabilan
  3. The prefect fitting khakis – Cold Method
  4. Bowties and knit ties

The New Essentials

  1. The evening blazer
  2. Crisp white shirt with french cuffs
  3. Leather jacket – motocross or biker style
  4. White t-shirt – the V-neck, the super low V-neck, the baggy low round neck, henley
  5. Biker boots
  6. Black jeans

Next week we’ll have a video on the New Business Attire!

Side note: I know that fashion magazines keep showing double breasted suits, but I’m just not ready for it …yet. But please don’t think if you used to wear double breasted suits you can pull your old ones out of the closet!

Great job with the video! Love the cotton blazer because they stand up to more abuse then a wool blazer. More versatile as they go better with jeans and dress shoes.

  2. Reggie says:

A very important and noteworthy comment Will, thanks! Appreciate your feedback & input on the blazer.

Versatility is essential when you’re picking clothes out. For example, I didn’t want to wear a suit all day at work then head straight to LG Fashion Week. So I took the cotton blazer and paired it up with a black v-neck tee, dark denims, and some kicks for work. Then before heading down to LGFW I threw on a dress shirt (over top my v-neck), tie, cuff links, and pocket square with a pair of shoes. Was going to throw the pants on too but liked the denims enough not to change up!

Edit: I also rolled the sleeves up during the day, and didn’t have to steam the sleeves to wear them unrolled at night! More on Saturday from Melissa on how to properly roll your sleeves.

Lovely site. Want to run your tuxedo video. Seems like that jacket fits your shoulders. Did you have it tailored? Some other secret I need to pass along to women who are “transgressing men’s fashion” at dapperQ.com? (PS thanks for following us, eager to learn more!)

    • reggie says:

Thanks DapperQ – nope, those jackets are off the rack. They fit very nicely though!

We do offer tailoring services in-house, so anything that is regular price, we’ll usually tailor free of charge. We want to make sure every guy looks their best leaving the store.

I’m loving your site by the way!

Thanks for all the helpful Tips. This is my question for you.
I am 5’7 , take a 34 jacket, and 28″ waist, the standard 14 1/2 small dress shirt is almost always too big. I have a hard time finding grow-up clothes that actually fit (particularly suits and jackets) . The slim European cuts have been a God send for me but I still have difficulty. Is there a brand at Gotstyle that you would recommend I try?

    • reggie says:

Hey John, sorry for the late reply. Will email you just in case you don’t get this comment.

Your best bet would be to look into suits by Cinque, they’re built for your body type. Also, our Gotstyle shirts do come in a 14 1/2, are trim cut, and any additional tailoring is included.

Let me know if you need any further info!
